Volunteer 3-6-5
Volunteer 3-6-5 is a citywide initiative that encourages year-round volunteerism in Livermore. From picking up litter, to abating graffiti, to participating in our various advisory bodies and community academies, Livermore community members are encouraged to help keep Livermore beautiful and give back to the City!
City of Livermore Volunteer Opportunities
Keep Livermore Beautiful
- Litter Pickup Events: Volunteers clean up litter in specific locations in the City through City-sponsored litter pickup events throughout the year. Sign up for an upcoming litter pickup event!
- Graffiti Fighters: Graffiti fighter volunteers find and remove graffiti from public areas of Livermore. The City's Public Works Department provides volunteers with kits to help get the job done. Learn more
- Living Arroyos: Living Arroyos is a multi-agency partnership that restores creek habitat throughout the Tri-Valley. Sign up for a Saturday volunteer work day or become a program intern. Learn more
Learn How the City Operates
- Advisory Bodies: The City of Livermore has nine Advisory Bodies that provide feedback on many of the City's programs and policies. Learn more
- Community Police Academy: The Academy is a 10-week course for community members who live or work in Livermore. Participants learn about the Livermore Police Department and dynamics of the law enforcement profession. Learn more
- Key to the City: Key to the City allows the public to peek behind the curtain of local government. Participants meet the Mayor and City staff, take part in a mock City Council meeting, venture on a "Discover Livermore" bus tour, and explore municipal facilities such as the fire training tower, water reclamation plant, and airport administration building. - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT): The CERT program trains community members to be emergency response volunteers in the event of a disaster. Learn more
- Livermore Police Reserves Unit: The Reserve Unit is a volunteer organization designed to supplement full-time paid police offers. The primary function of Reserve Officers is to serve as "backup" officers for the regulars. Learn more
- Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Reserves Unit: The Reserve Unit provide support for the Fire Department while preparing participants for a career in the fire service. Learn more
Explore New Career Opportunities in Public Safety
- Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Explorers Program: The Explorers program is for anyone between the ages of 16 and 21 who is interested in pursuing a career in fire fighting. Participants receive hands-on training in basic firefighting skills. Learn more
- Law Enforcement Exploring Program: The Explorers program is open to anyone age 14 to 21 with an interest in learning more about careers in law enforcement. Participants receive hands-on leadership and community service opportunities. Learn more

- The Livermore Library has many year-round volunteer opportunities for adults and teens. Learn more
Administrative Services Department
- The Administrative Services Department consists of the Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology Divisions and provides essential services and support to internal and external customers of the City of Livermore. Register to volunteer with the Administrative Services Department.
