Departments
Administrative Services Department
The Administrative Services Department is comprised of four divisions and is responsible for providing a number of administrative and support services to all of the City's operating departments, City Council, Commissions, City Manager, employees, and Livermore residents.
City Attorney's Office
The City Attorney is the legal counsel for the City Council, volunteer advisory groups, and City staff.
City Manager's Office
The City of Livermore operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The City Council provides overall policy direction and appoints a City Manager who is responsible for implementing adopted City policies. The City Manager’s Office is responsible for the operational activities of all City departments. It implements policies and procedures at all levels of City government to ensure the City Council’s community vision becomes reality.
Community Development Department
The Community Development Department provides services that relate to land use, building construction, infrastructure development, affordable housing, and human services.
Office of Innovation & Economic Development
The Innovation and Economic Development Department develops and implements programs to achieve City Council goals related to fostering a vibrant, innovation-driven business community. The Department is the primary point of contact with the business community, assisting companies that wish to start, grow, or relocate in Livermore.
Library
The Livermore Public Library connects all people with information, education, and inspiring experiences to support personal growth, enhance quality of life, and build community in Livermore.
Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department
As an emergency response and community service organization our goals are to limit the risk of fire, to limit injury and property damage associated with fire, explosions, hazardous materials incidents, storms or other natural and technological emergencies; to prepare City forces for disaster response, and to better prepare the community for self help in the event of a major disaster.
Police Department
The Livermore Police Department has 90 sworn officers and 45 non-sworn full-time personnel, who are responsible for protecting the City's residents, property owners and businesses. The department fosters a problem-solving, community policing philosophy and works collaboratively with the City Council, the City Manager's Office and the community to address crime issues and other civic matters requiring police involvement.
Public Works Department
The Public Works Department is made up of four divisions dedicated to enhancing the environment through its services and contributing to the civic vitality and economic growth of the City through exceptional operations and prudent management of assets.
