  • Thursday, March 14, 2019, 7:00 pm Subcommittee on Homelessness Community Meeting Discussion on Crisis Intervention Services, Safe Parking, Biohazard Cleanup and other resources.
  • February 25, 2019, the City Council approved a work plan for the Subcommittee on Homelessness.
  • December 10, 2018, the City Council appointed Vice Mayor Carling and Councilmember Munro to a Subcommittee on Homelessness; the intent of this Subcommittee is to evaluate issues and identify potential alternatives in response to the homeless crisis in Livermore.
  • Summer of 2018, with the assistance of the LVJUSD Social Workers, a short four question survey was conducted at the annual Health Fair; LVJUSD staff has identified over 126 families facing various levels of homelessness.
  • January 16, 2018, the homeless subcommittee met once again to discuss what success would look like moving forward and goals were identified.
  • December 14, 2017, the Homeless Subcommittee met for the first time. This included staff representatives from the Police Department, Housing and Human Services and Library staff.
  • December 4, 2017, the Leadership Team (made of City Department Directors and Managers) and homeless liaison staff in the various departments met with the City Manager to discuss current efforts to address the homeless issue; City Manager requested that a subcommittee meet.
  • 2017 Alameda County Everyone Counts Homeless Point in Time Count and survey reported 102 sheltered and 141 unsheltered homeless population in Livermore.
  • During the FY 2017-18 (July 2017 – June 2018), the City of Livermore allocated approximately $394,947 in grant funding to support various community-based organizations in providing services to the homeless community. In addition, the City allocated $283,000 in funds to provide capital improvements for the two Tri-Valley Haven (TVH) shelters and the TVH administrative building, as they are the primary shelter for the entire Tri-Valley.
  • In FY 2016-17 CityServe served 357 Livermore clients of which 113 were homeless.
  • April 30, 2014 Mayor's Summit on Homelessness

    On April 30, 2014, Mayor John Marchand convened a Summit on Homelessness to bring together elected officials, non-profit organizations, the faith community, community members and homeless to examine ways to reduce and prevent homelessness in the Tri-Valley region. Two hundred (200) people attended the event and participated in 5 breakout sessions that discussed a variety of topics including homeless prevention, chronic homelessness and regional collaboration strategies.
