The South Livermore Sewer Extension will connect the existing 12" sewer on East Avenue at Buena Vista, extend it south along Buena Vista, then east along Tesla to Greenville, and finally south along Greenville to Poppy Ridge. The project will help protect water quality, support agriculture, and enable limited compatible commercial uses. It will also allow sewage treatment and disposal services for parcels outside of the South Livermore Urban Growth boundary, authorized by and consistent with the provisions of the South Livermore Valley Area Plan which was adopted in February 1993.

Project Schedule and Status

Current Status: City of Livermore is working in partnership with the Alameda County. The County wants the City to design but Alameda County to construct. A Request for Proposal has been drafted but start is contingent upon Alameda County funding agreement. Alameda County is preparing environmental document for Martinelli reach which must be completed before funding agreement is executed. Future agreements are needed to fund connection to City system and ongoing costs to treat sewage from this extension.

Project Design: Expected to start April 2025.

Project Construction: Expected to start September 2026.
