Under California State law SB 1383, commercial edible food generators must begin recovering surplus edible food that would otherwise be disposed of and donate it to nourish people. Careit is a free food donation and rescue app that matches surplus edible food with non-profits that redistribute to the community. Careit is hosting two webinars for Livermore businesses interested in learning how to use the Careit app as a tool for facilitating edible food recovery in compliance with SB 1383.
